All the ten expression of interest and nomination forms for governorship primary issued the Lagos state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the national headquarters have been sold out, Naijalog has learnt.
The forms were bought by hopefuls which include Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Akin Ambode, Dr Leke Pitan and the Speaker, Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji, there are other lesser known aspirants such as: Hakeem Alobo-Bakare and in-law to Globacom boss, Mike Adenuga, Hakeem Disu ,former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Olasupo Sasore; and erstwhile Commissioner for Health, Special Duties and Rural Development in the state, Dr Tajudeen Odutola Kasali are all jostling to succeed incumbent governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, who has cannot seek re-election.
The state leadership of the party had to call for more forms from the national headquarters, hence another batch of ten forms was forwarded to the state secretariat on Saturday, 18th October, 2014, our correspondent gathered.
With the party zoning its governorship ticket to the Lagos East Senatorial District, majority of the aspirants are from the zone with the exception being the duo of Hakeem Disu and Alobo-Bakare who are both from the Lagos Central Senatorial District.
