George And Clar Weah
Former World footballer of the year, George Oppong Weah, and his wife, Clar got married during his active playing career in France in the early 90’s.
Clar, in her late 30’s is an astute backer of her husband’s career during his numerous moves from club to club, and his foray in to the world of politics.
George, reputed to be one of the most successful footballer in the world, won three top awards, African Footballer of the year, European Footballer of the year, FIFA World Footballer of the Year, all in the year 1995.
After retirement from active soccer, he contested in the presidential election of his native country, Liberia in 2005 losing to current president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in a keenly contested election.
They are blessed with four children.

Cameroun soccer legend, Samuel Eto’o and his Ivorian-born wife Georgette got married on July 6, 2007 after they had dated for several years.
Eto’o, 32, is currently the highest paid footballer in the world, earning $500,000 per week at his current club, Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia.
Eto’o has four children namely: Maelle, Étienne, Siena and Lynn. They have two children together: Siena, and Lynn who both live along with Georgette in Paris, France.

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Austin “Jay-Jay” Okocha got married to his beautiful wife Nkechi in 2007 after dating for three years.
Jay-Jay, 39, met his wife shortly after his team golden performance at African Nations Cup tournament in Tunisia in 2004.
Unlike two of his teammates, Daniel Amokachie and Sunday Oliseh, who got married months after meeting their spouses, Okocha and his wife courted for three years before tying the knot at a star-studded wedding in Nigeria in 1997.
After retiring from active sport, Okocha is into various businesses and also a FIFA licensed players agent recruiting talents for international clubs.
They are currently blessed with two children; Daniella and A-Jay.
Yakubu And Yvonne Aiyegbeni
Out of favor Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni married heartthrob Yvonne Lameen Ikhana in Lagos in July 2008.
Yvonne is the daughter of one of Nigeria’s soccer legend, kadiri Ikhana.
Aiyegbeni, 31, talked about his love for his wife in a recent interview;
“When I wake up everyday, I look at her face and she makes me happy. I go for training and play my matches with happiness in my heart.
That is the motivation that makes me perform well. She often tells me: ‘Just go there and play well and score for me. That gives me more confidence and belief in myself,” he said.

Joseph And Adaeze Yobo
Super Eagles captain and Fernabache of Turkey defender, Joseph Yobo got married to beauty queen Adaeze Igwe at what is still termed the “oddest wedding of the decade” at midnight of December 31, 2009.
They met during the summer of 2009 when Joseph was in Nigeria on holiday during the football Off-Season in former club, Everton FC in England, while Ada was enjoying the last few months of fun before embarking on her course at the New York Film Academy.
The couple are proud parent to a son, Joey Yobo, born in April 2010.
