In recent news, the Hisbah operatives in Kano state detained 11 individuals for breaking their fast during Ramadan. These individuals were caught consuming food while they were supposed to be fasting. According to Lawal Fagge, the Hisbah spokesman, the arrests were made on March 12 and the detainees were released after promising not to break their fast again. It should be noted that Hisbah officers mainly target Muslims during their patrols, especially in market areas, but they do not arrest non-Muslims. However, non-Muslims who sell food to Muslims during Ramadan will face arrest.
