Most fuel stations across the nation remained either shut or had long queues as scarcity of fuel which started last week in Abuja spread to other parts of the country.
Investigations by our correspondents across the nation revealed that independent markerters are not importing petrol due to the failure of the Federal Government to pay subsidy claims to fuel importers.
Markerters, we also gathered are skeptical about importing petrol due to the fall of the naira which has been trading at an all time high against most currencies especially the dollar.
Our correspondent in Kwara State said most filing stations, across the states were locked on Sunday, while those who had fuel were selling at N100 per litre.
From Akure, the Ondo State capital findings by our correspondent revealed that few fuel stations which sold petrol on Sunday dispensed at the rate of N110, apart from the additional N100 which attendants collected from anybody who buys above 10 litres.
Similar stories were filed by our correspondents in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kaduna, Delta, Plateau, Akwa-Ibom, who all noted that petrol was not being sold at the official pump price of N87.
