A House of Rep member has attributed the poor performance recorded at the recently conducted West African Secondary School Certificate examinations and other public examinations to epileptic power supply.
Chief Yomi Ogunnusi, the lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijiaye constituency , Lagos, noted that erratic power supply was a big hindrance to learning; something he said would not encourage students to study hard.
The 2014 results released by the West African Examination Council showed that only 31.28% of candidates who sat for the West African Secondary School Certificate examination passed with five credits in five subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
The lawmaker enthused this while giving scholarships to secondary students in his constituency.
