Forbes Magazine has once again published its annual ranking of Africa’s 50 Richest People and for the first time Nigeria has more rich persons on the list than South Africa
Only two women make the list, one is of them is Nigerian billionaire Folorunsho Alakija and the other is the daughter of Angola’s president, Isabel dos Santos.
The male dominated list has 13 Nigerians.
The “usual suspects”, Mike Adenuga, Aliko Dangote, Jim Ovia, Femi Otedola, Oba Otudeko are on the list.
While politicians such as , Theophilus Danjuma, Orji Uzor Kalu.
Tony Elumelu, also made this year’s list. Kalu is also a newcomer
The oldest person on the list is 85 – both Miloud Chaabi of Morocco and Onsi Sawiris of Egypt share that age. The youngest is Mohammed “Mo” Dewji of Tanzania, age 39.
